Necessary Elements to Being a Better…Anything:

1. Be a good student of leadership, philosophy, wisdom, parenting, etc..
2. Apply whatever you’re learning….in a way that forces you to adapt, improve, and ultimately makes you uncomfortable in a positive way
Quotes: “the best is the enemy of the good”
3. Just start somewhere…tolerate imperfection in a temporary way…but a be the person with a grand vision despite your imperfections.
Quotes: “If a thing is worth doing, it is worth doing badly.” –GK Chesterton
“Obstacles cannot crush me. Every obstacle yields to stern resolve. He who is fixed to a star does not change his mind.” ― Leonardo da Vinci

Related Facts:
First, everybody is a leader, a philosopher, etc, and occupies roles that you are doing well or poorly.
Second, being a passive learner is being a poor learner

Take away? Start being an active student, and start applying everything you read and study. For instance, put yourself out there in a positively uncomfortable way. For me, I’m creating this public Facebook. I don’t particularly like ‘sharing,’ but I find it that I am more productive when I’m wrestling with expressing my ideas in an uncomfortable way.
